Resumen
This paper explores the concept of queer reproduction through an analysis
of the FX series Pose and its revisitation of several key audiovisual documents in
queer cultural history. After briefly introducing the series, the argument will be situ-
ated in discourses around queer temporality and the frame of what reproduction can
come to mean in a queer context will be expanded by examining the social and cul-
tural rather than biological processes through which queer people “birth” themselves
and each other. Finally, several sequences from the series will be discussed in relation
to the films and videos they reference to argue that Pose not only represents but also
performs queer modes of reproduction through this revisitation.
